Sage (Salvia officinalis)

  Sage is a popular cooking herb with many healing properties and it is useful for treating colds, coughs, respiratory ailments, and nervous conditions

When this herb is used as a gargle it is excellent for sore throats and tonsillitis. An application of bruised leaves can be used for insect bites.

Use only as directed and not for extended periods of time, (more than 2 weeks) as very unpleasant, poisonous symptoms may appear.

Usual Method of Prep Usual Dosage
Cooking:
Used mostly for seasoning poultry
Use:
As per recipe
Tea:
1 tsp dried herb in
1/2 cup boiling water
steep for 30 minutes
Take:
1 cup daily, 1 tbsp at a time
Tincture:
Best purchased.
15 to 40 drops 3 or 4 times a day
