Papaya (Carica papaya)

Papaya is best know by it's ability to help digestion disorders due to active agent, Papain. Also helps with allergies. Papain is an enzyme likened to pepsin, an enzyme that is made by the gastric juices of the stomach.

This protein digesting enzyme is essential in aiding such digestive disorders as dyspepsia and others.  The leaves are used to dress wounds and the milky juice from the unripe fruits is used internally as a vermifuge, externally for freckles.

improper breakdown of the protein we ingest often leads to allergies and by improving the digestion we also improve our allergies.
