herbal cures

Garlic ( Allium sativum)

Lowering high blood pressure, cleaning the cholesterol from arteries have been only some of the many cures this herb is famous for.

There have been studies than spans decades that have shown that regular usage of garlic decreases platelet aggregation, lowers serum triglycerides and LDL-cholesterol levels (the bad kind) and also lowers blood pressure while increasing serum HDL-cholesterol (the good kind).

It also increases fibrinolysis (the process through which the body breaks up blood clots). Garlic is good for stimulating the body to produce nitric oxide in the lining of blood vessel walls, which helps relax them.  Thus garlic helps prevent atherosclerosis and diabetic heart disease, while reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Garlic also aids in digestion by stimulating the digestive organs in production of vital secretions for digesting food.
