Feverfew (Chrysanthemum parthenium)

  This herb helps with colds, digestion and alcoholic d.t.'s.  Feverfew makes a stimulating tonic with slight purgative effects.

Feverfew has also been used for migraine headaches, promotion of menstraul flow and to aid in digestions and flatuence.

the flowers themselves have a purgative effect.   A cold infusion is very good for a tonic effect while the warm tea is more effective for the other conditions.

    Internal uses for Feverfew

  • Carminative (gas expelling agent)
  • Delirium tremors
  • Emmenagogue (Promotes menstrual flow)

Usual Method of Prep Usual Dosage
Tea:
1 heaping tsp in
1 cup of boiling water
steep 5 to 10 minutes.
Take Warm:
1 to 2 cups daily in mouthful doses.
Take cold for tonic, 1 cup per day.
Tincture:
Best purchased.
Take;
10 to 30 drops in water every 2 to 3 hours.
For dt's, take 15 to 40 drops as needed.
