Medicinal Herbal Remedies Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum)   Fenugreek dates back to hippocrates and to the ancient egyptians. It is one of the oldest healing plants known.   Used for Tuberculosis and those recovering from illnesses. Fenugreek also improves milk production in lactating mothers. It is very good for building up the mucous membranes in the stomach after a severe illness, contributing to appetite and digestion. To strengthen ones suffering from T B and other major illnesses large amounts of the decoction may be taken. Use as a gargle for sore throats and taken for fevers and bronchitis.  By strengthening the stomach it is a help for those suffering from anemia. A poultice of the pulverized seeds is used for several conditions, (see below).  Fenugreek is a cooking spice and used in many recipes. Take: 2 to 3 cups a day. Adding a few drops of peppermint oil, lemon, or honey will improve the nut like flavor. Poultice: Pulverize seeds. Apply wet pulverized seeds to affected area. Tea: Usual tea directions or purchase tea bags.. Take: Drink as needed.
